Writing a DBQ Essay

The Steps Involved
- You have 15 minutes to read the prompt, make an analysis of the document start your prewriting. This is a section covered in those 15minutes.
- Read your prompt.

- Write your body paragraphs in a manner that creates logic.
- Make a connection between each essay paragraph with your thesis statement. If you do not do it, you might lose some points.
- Ensure that you incorporate citations. Any time you mention information from a document, ensure that you’ve added parentheses and the number of the document at the very end of the sentence.
- Formulate your conclusion. Ensure that you have restated your thesis statement as well as summarizing what you have just proved.

In America, there were some colonies which allowed more than one religion. Massachusetts for example allowed only one religion while in Maryland, the Act of Toleration allowed Christians to practice their diverse religions freely.
Colonist America offered much opportunity. Talk of freedom of worship trade resources as well as land to farm and also, there were opportunities to participate in the government. England established colonies to keep itself running for those who relocated to these colonies, it was really their dreamland.
