The movie, “Shawshank Redemption” by Frank Darabont is a 1994 movie American drama. The movie is based on a short story by Steven King. The film demonstrates how prison life affects detainees during their verdict or ruling in jail and after their release from the prisons.

The movie mainly focuses on the cost of adapting in the prison life and how convicts lose their ability when they are released. Based on the movie, prisoners find it hard when they are initially imprisoned but they later adapt to the conditions. According to the movie, released prisoners find it hard when they are outside the prisons because they experience new transformations in the society which annoy them.

            The beginning of the film presents Andy, Brook, Red, and Tommy as damaged characters. The movie begins with these characters grappling with anguish and unsettled conflict. Andy creates disorder and offers the medium for healing and change. The personalities in the movie assist in creating a community of sorts. The movie not only presents prisons of criminals but also shows a place where people encounter different problems. Everyone in the prison has the desire to rehabilitate themselves. The movie rotates around Andy who committed murder of his wife in 1946 and is sentenced for a lifetime jail.
