President Donald Trump's Inauguration

President Donald Trump took office as the 45th president of the United States on the 20th of January 2017. Trump replaced Barrack Obama as a Republican following his win over Hillary Clinton, who was a Democrat. A major Executive Order 13769 was issued by Trump as the POTUS, which saw the cessation of refugees being admitted to the United States. The paper aims to analyze the problems that emerge with the inception of Trump's presidency by analyzing, in addition to the links with the Russian government, the relation between his presidency and industry.

Links to Russia

There have been many reports of his links to Russia since Trump's election to the presidency. In various reports from different sources, it has been pointed out that during the campaign period, Mr. Trump demonstrated several episodes of governmental relations towards Putin, who is believed to be an embodiment of leaders who torture and kill journalists and opponents. In some instances, Trump refers to Putin as a “better leader” compared to the former President Obama. Besides, the close associates like General Michael Flynn, The National Security Advisor, and Jeff Sessions, the country’s attorney, have been implicated in the allegations which have led to their resignation from their posts. The two have been reported to have made contact with the Russian ambassador.

Utilization of Campaign Funds

During Trump’s campaign, it was recorded that he was one of the few candidates to have the least expenditure on the presidential campaign. However, being a businessman, Trump took advantage of the contributions towards his campaigns to advertise his properties. For instance, the expenditure towards Tag Air was $1,655,702, while that towards Trump Hotels was $467,772 among other Trump-owned properties that were used during the campaign. Thus, it can be concluded that the utilization of the campaign funds led to destroying Trump’s image as most donors perceived the incident as paddling his bottom line.
