CAPITAL PUNISHMENT Essay

I personally oppose the use of the death penalty I would want to take this critical opportunity to write you as our state governor on a pressing problem with the death penalty in our culture. I personally oppose the use of the death penalty for criminal offenders. The death penalty has serious negative effects on the lives of millions of people living in the modern world.

Innocent people have died as a result of capital punishment among the general populace (Krasemann, 2014). Furthermore, before being put to death, the majority of victims are not given the chance to explain their error. Since the victim's wishes and opinions are not taken into consideration, this conduct breaches their right to free speech. Capital punishment practices have led to unnecessary deaths of most citizens making lot inhabitants have unpopular views regarding the act. A statistic which was done by World Health Organization has stated that more than 80% of the death penalty victims are innocent from the accusations made against them (Thiroux, 2014). However, according to the research above this is a clear indication that your government should abolish the commotion.

The death penalty also led to fear, stigmatization, and discriminations to the relatives and friends of the victims of a whole. Moreover, the above reactions of the members of the society violate their right of association, movement, and even expression (Krasemann, 2014). The victims’ families and friends sometimes resort to drug abuse and suicide as an alternative solution for their problems. Capital punishment needs to be abolished through any available measure and proper channels to be taken to law violators.

As I finish, I appeal to you Mr. Governor to try in your powers to abolish this problem in our society to free people from being attacked by this oppression. However, Mr. Governor, you should bring numerous techniques which can be used to correct lawbreakers rather than capital punishment. As a member of your county, I would like to be part of a society free from oppression, discrimination, and depressions. The above are my grievances which I need you to address and implement to live in a society free from capital punishment.   Death Penalty
