The Avengers are a group of super heroes and villains from Marvel Comics. They've been fighting together for many years and have been a source of inspiration for many comics fans. The first episode of The Avengers introduces us to Thor and Hulk, two of the heroes. The Avengers work together to fight evil and save Earth from an alien invasion. Eventually, Thor defeats Loki, who has been using his powers to control the world's population.

In the second episode, the heroes are forced to fight Ultron, a robotic entity powered by lifelike artificial intelligence. The team is tasked with stopping Ultron from destroying humanity. After failing to eliminate the Avengers and Sokovia, Ultron has plans for all of humanity. His robot legion was aided by devices planted in the city. James Rhodes, as the superhero War Machine, joins the battle. This episode ends in a victory for the Avengers and the heroes.

The Avengers is inspired by the Justice League of America from DC Comics. The Justice League of America consisted of super heroes such as Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman. Unlike the Justice League, The Avengers was characterized by internal conflict and owed its existence to the machinations of a villain. Loki is the Norse god of mischief and half-brother of the thunder god Thor. The Avengers are forced to unite when Thor is involved in a battle with the Hulk.

The Avengers' story arcs became more complex and character-driven, and became melodramatic, as well. "Kree-Skrull War" was a prime example of this trend. The Avengers also featured notable characters such as Vision, a tortured android, and the Grim Reaper, the vengeance-crazed brother of Wonder Man. The Avengers' lineup is rounded out by the introduction of the Thing, Power Woman, and Iron Fist.

As the name suggests, The Avengers team was created in 1963 and first appeared in comic books. In 1963, Stan Lee and Jack Kirby merged superheroes from different comic series to form a team. The Avengers comic series was initially published bi-monthly, with monthly issues thereafter. Eventually, they grew into a movie franchise and had multiple spin-offs. In the years since, the team has continued to appear in other Marvel movies.

The first movie of The Avengers was a blockbuster, with an audience response that exceeded expectations. With seven superheroes, The Avengers introduced the MacGuffin quest and a non-human army of bad guys. Loki uses the Tesseract to create a beam of light that allows an alien army to destroy New York City. This format was reverse-engineered in Thor: The Dark World. Released just two years after The Avengers, Thor: The Dark World re-used the same formula and included the same cast. However, the film also featured a large number of returning characters and its own plotlines.

The first film of The Avengers is the most popular superhero movie ever. With several Marvel characters, the film features nonstop comic book mayhem, advanced weapons and epic battle scenes involving thousands of casualties. The movie also features personal fights among family members and the deaths of beloved characters. As the series continued, the team expanded and faced a new set of challenges and internal turmoil. With each new movie, The Avengers became more popular and more influential, so it's a must-see for any Marvel fan.
