a) Murder; Murder is an act of deliberate killings of human beings to eliminate them from the society.

b) Genocide; Genocide is a substantial killing of a large number of people from a particular affiliation such as ethnicity, religion, race and political group.

c) Treason; Treason is an act of providing assistance to the enemy of the government or betraying the state.

d) Crime against humanity; Crime against humanity is the killing of people in mass for a political reason.

e) Espionage, espionage is the process of the learning and understanding the secrets information of a state through spying.

2. The death penalty has negative impacts on the modern society

a) There are better ways of sentencing those convicted of murder such as life imprisonment.

b) Through death penalty, the lives of innocent people are put at risk

c) The death penalty is costly in the long run because the government will spend a lot of resources while executing the act.

d) In a country where there is the poor quality of defense, a large number of people can face the death penalty.

e) The dictatorship government can wrongfully apply the death penalty to their opponents to silence them.

3. Scholars from the different part of the society present opposing viewpoints regarding capital punishment.

a) The Fifth Amendment states that no person shall be deprived of life without the due process of the law.
