The Kirkpatrick evaluation methodology is employed to evaluate the efficacy of instruction. Four stages make up the model: reaction, learning, behavior, and results. Significantly, each of these levels is crucial when doing the evaluation (Allan). Even if the fourth level might be given priority, it is nearly impossible to evaluate the outcomes without taking the first three levels into account.

It's critical to gauge the trainees' opinions in order to assess their learning and gather data on the training program's advantages and disadvantages. The response level assesses elements including the training program's impact and clarity (Gardner). Thus, the program's designers can enhance their subsequent offerings. Learning evaluation is important since it allows the trainers to evaluate the increase in knowledge and skills. It allows the trainer to assess whether the trainees learned and grasped the required content. The third level assesses whether the learners implemented the learnt material in their work. This level is important since it assesses whether the training was beneficial to the employees for them to use it in their work (Kirkpatrick Evaluation Method). The final stage assesses the results obtained from the training program. These could be in the form of profits or productivity. It is important since it allows the management to evaluate whether the training was effective to the company.

Interview as an Evaluation Tool

Using interviews as an evaluation tool can also aide my training plan when collecting feedback and evaluating the training program (Vanderbilt University). Interviews would be used when assessing whether the employees are implementing the learned material in their work environment. Interviews would be effective when assessing the training objectives since they allow for detailed evaluation. There is also the chance to ask follow up questions for clarification.
