Layout of buildings

The layout of their buildings and equipment is something that manufacturing businesses give a lot of thought to. The grouping of several workstations together according to the items being worked on is one of the production tactics known as product layout. It has the benefit of facilitating the rapid movement of small batches of completed products to the following station in the manufacturing process. If the production of a manufacturing business increases, it is detrimental since it needs the adoption of process layout.

The fixed position plan is typically a manufacturing layout that is suitable for various items that are large or too heavy providing restrictions in terms of movement. One advantage is that it allows manufacturing company to ease manufacturing work for products that heavy (Admin, 2017). Disadvantage includes space limitation where workplace maybe crowded thus resulting to little storage.

Job enrichment and job enlargement are two most common aspects of any company. However, the two have various differences. In this regard, Job enlargement entails taking charge of more duties as well as responsibilities that are not mentioned in the description of a job. On the other hand, job enrichment provides more access to control and managerial to enhance performances of various tasks and responsibilities. In addition, Job enrichment is vertical whereas job enlargement is horizontal.

Supply chain management acts as the most important aspects of any manufacturing company. In particular, it has a very close relationship with manufacturing and logistics due to its effects on the two aspects. First, effective supply chain management ensures that materials are able to arrive at the production line in time thus ensuring manufacturing is process is attained. Also,its affects logistics by lowering the distribution costs. Reverse logistics should be considered since it facilitates operations related to the reuse of products (Dyckhoff, Lackes, & Reese, 2004). This means that it ensures goods are moved from their final destination purposely to capture value or ensure proper disposal.
