In order to improve the performance of the entire business, managers' and employees' motivation is crucial.

Among other things, motivational variables include pay, job stability, the workplace, job happiness, and possibilities for career progression. The goal of this study work is to pinpoint the elements that would create favorable circumstances for both an employee and a management. The first section will concentrate on the employees, and the second section will focus on the managers.

High job satisfaction

More job satisfaction among employees increases productivity, which boosts organizational performance (Sageer et al., p34). Organizational conditions that enhance job satisfaction include autonomy, job design, recognition and quantity of task. Jobs should be designed in such a way that tasks are simplified and enlarged to increase satisfaction. Moreover, workers need autonomy to make decisions about their tasks.

Opportunities for career growth and development

This factor is important because it is intrinsic in the way that employees can satisfy their need for self-esteem and self-actualization (Ayesha, p84). Majority of employees want to work in a place that will enable them to earn a promotion and advance their profession.

Job security

The high rate of unemployment means that employees rate job security as a supportive organizational condition. This means that workers are assured that they will not lose their current job and therefore, retained by the organization (Sageer et al., p34).

Compensation and benefits

Financial benefits such as high salaries, bonuses, paid vacations, stock ownership plan and social security benefits and health insurance. Financial incentives factors are great supportive conditions because everyone is worried about money.

Good working environment and conditions

Every employee desires to perform their duties in an atmosphere that is comfortable and safe to increase productivity (Sageer et al., p35). For instance, tools and equipment that is in good working condition, essential facilities that are clean and office that is well ventilated with sufficient lighting.

For managers

Leadership style

Managers want organization situation that supports their leadership style. Leadership style will enable managers to understand the role they play in the organization. An effective leadership style that is recognized by others will make the organization managers work in to be very supportive of their ideas (Stasko, p49).

Autonomy of decision making

Managers need to work in an environment that encourages their independence of decision making. The ability to make decisions independent of answering to somebody and second guessing it because of oversight makes management very challenging. Moreover, the autonomy to make decisions about performance of tasks also has an impact on leadership style.

Compensation

Financial benefits can motivate managers too. Management itself comes with high remuneration and allowances such as private medical insurance for them and their families, retention bonuses, etc.

Job security

Everyone wants to retain their employment and managers are no exceptions. No manager wants to lead an organization where they are a constant threat to loss of their job. Job security is crucial for both low level and middle-level managers (Stasko, p55).

Promotion opportunities

Similar to employees, managers also need to advance their careers to realize self-actualization. Middle-level managers want to promote their profession to top level managers. Furthermore, the opportunity for promotion brings new challenges and interests through expansion of responsibilities that is very fulfilling.

Conclusion

Employees and managers are motivated by different factors although with similar human needs. A supportive and favorable environment increases organizational performance. Factors that promote supportive conditions for workers include job satisfaction, compensation, job security, excellent working environment and career growth.
