A funeral service

A funeral ceremony allows mourning family and friends of the deceased to gather and pay their final tributes while also comforting themselves. Funeral planning is a difficult and emotionally draining procedure (Ross, 2006). After a death, the family is left wondering as to what the deceased want. As a result, they face a slew of difficulties, as explained more below.

First, most people do not preplan a funeral arrangement, either in advance of their loved one's death or on their behalf (Shaw, 1994). The surviving family members are under a lot of pressure to decide how the deceased's remains will be disposed of.Disagreements may arise due to multiple loved ones involved.

 Secondly, the funeral cost may vary significantly from what was planned initially. While going through the pain of losing a family member, they can hardly make the most efficient way to solicit funds. Besides, if the departed had neither written a will nor had a trustee, then a difficulty arises on how his or her property will be inherited (Mabbott, 2011).

Thirdly, dealing with a vast number of loved ones and family members can be very hard to integrate religion and cultural norms. Furthermore, it will be burdensome to agree on the location, speakers who will offer a funeral eulogy, and date of the final send-off.

I opine that the most significant challenge is finding out what precisely the deceased would have wanted. Since people don't desire to die soon, they don't make arrangements themselves. So when you are planning their funeral, you are left imagining the preference of their burial. It is cumbersome because you are not that person. Hence no matter what choice you make, you may not be satisfied that you made the right decision.

In conclusion, funeral planning is an emotional and exhaustive process that is accompanied by a myriad of challenges. This paper expounded the common problems that are faced when planning a funeral.
