Colonizing another planet

Humanity's natural home has always been the world. The world is estimated to be around 4.543 billion years old, and humans have been on the planet for thousands of years. The planet has long been regarded as nature's and the most ideal ecosystem for mankind, owing to the fact that it is composed of natural gasses and has the proper temperature to sustain human life. However, there have been new proposals for the exploration of other planets. Human beings are beginning to think of the possibility of leaving the earth and living on another planet, these concepts have been referred to by researcher and astronomical scholars as space colonization. Over the years the inception of this idea has led to many controversial statements as there have been several augments for and there have also been some augment against the concept of colonization for another planet. However, scientists have continued to stress the possibility of human civilization and the possibility of the supportive biosphere in other planets apart from the earth. These scientists have also stressed that there are vast resource available on space and the colonization of another planet is a possibility. There is need to stress that no other planet has been currently colonized but the possibility of such occurrence in the nearest future is of no doubt. However, it must also be clearly emphasized that the colonization of another planet will require huge financial and technological investment if it must succeed, (Kipfer, 24). This study will clear point out the concept of colonization of another planet and considers the argument for it and also look at augments against it will sum up the ideas of the study at the end with a sound conclude.

Colonizing another planet

The concept of colonizing another planet refers the possibility of moving human being to another planet different from the earth which is our natural habitat; the ramifications of this decision means that the planet intended for colonization will be built from the beginning. It will require a huge infrastructural commitment in terms of basic amenities such and power - all planets are currently without electricity execpts the earth, so colonization new planets will require investment is the right power source. Other infrastructure worthy of mention includes the need of road housing water supply and a host of others. It must be clearly pointed out that the colonization of another planet is like starting from the beginning however it must also be noted that the development of such planets intended for colonization will be faster than it was for the earth based on the fact that technological knowledge will be shipped in from the earth to the intended planets, (Levine, et al. 150)

Augments for colonization of other planets

The main reason for a call to colonizing another planet is based on long-term consideration for the survival of human civilization. There have been claims that by colonizing other planets that are not far from the earth will be a place of refuge in the advent the impending natural or imminent disaster on the earth. Scientists and other astronomers have argued fiercely that space colonization is a means by humanity can remedy the effects of his actions on the earth. There have been predictions that the human race will be in extinct with the next few thousand of the years hence the need, now, colonies in space. Stephen Hawking a leader of space research with NASA as pointed out that it is either the society starts building colonies in space in the next two hundred years of face the risk of total extinction. There is need to clearly stress that space colonization is one of the primary goal of NASA in the 21st century. NASA stresses that the possibility of longer term survival of humans on earth is shortened by the day and that the chance of long survival of human race is the colonization of other planets and pointing out the place of primary interest will be places such as the moons of Jupiter and other planets as the space colonization research continues, (Harris 13).

There have also been immense augment about the possibility and the availability of vast recourses in other planets. Astronomers have clearly pointed out that these resources are vast in terms of energy and also vast in terms of material. Scientists have pointed out that the space solar system alone capable of providing enough energy to support planets with billions of miles more that the current support offered by the solar system to the earth. Hence it is believed that movement of the human race to other planets will be possible as the solar system is cable of supporting the energy requirement of human being in another planet. It also believed that as long as the solar system is a conglomeration of other planets and bodies each with a resource that could be harnessed for economic development, (Harris 16).

There is need to stress that one of the arguments in support of movement is to space is that there is a limited expansion related problem. Space scientist claim that events of expansion on earth have led to several devastating effects such as displacement of people and animals from their natural habitat. Therefore colonization of other planet does not pose these challenges as there are no previous occupants of such planets. There have also been claims the moved to other planets will create an avenue to curb the menace of overpopulation and excessive demands for resources. It has been claimed that if the resource on space was opened for use and the every could access as much as they will need then there will need limited demand on the resource available on earth and also less pressure on space's resources also,(Harris 19).

There has also been another argument in support of the need for a drive towards the exploration of other planets in space; there have been claims that with an enormous amount of resource available in space there are tendencies that man will live longer on another planet than they currently do on earth. The need for the continued inculcation of life and beauty in other planets have also been described as a reason for space colonization and if some species must survive then will need a better location, and therefore other planets will do. There have been claims also there are a lot of financial gains will accrue to us if we move to space; such financial gains will be derived from solar power satellites, Space mining and space commerce, (Harris 23).

Argument against colonization of other planets

There have also been counter augments about the need for colonization of another planet such as Mars, the oppositions of space colonization clearly points out that the achievement of such efforts will be a great milestone in the event of humans. However how they request for a justification the how and what will be the basis selection of those who will be included in the movement and those who will be left behind. Will it be a case where the Kings’ move to their place and the savants live in the in squalor?

There is need clearly stress that the oppose of the notion of colonizing another planet tend to agree with the fact that our plant is currently in distress and having to face a number of changelings, they how points out that moving to another plant may not be the solution. Opposes of this movement notion claims that the $ 100bn that would have will be sunk in places like Mars could be used to tackle most of the challenge we have on earth.

Therefore they believe that running away is more an expensive price to pay when compared with the cost of fixing earth. There have also been claims that such planet in space has some adverse weather condition that could be detrimental to the health of human being if there they decide to exit the earth. For example, a movement to Mars will require that people will live in extremely cold conditions as Mars is considered to be colder that the Antartica regions during winter, (Landis 123). It must also be clearly stressed that there is the presence of vacuum in space and most of the planet to do not have enough oxygen to support human existence. There is a need to stress that some scientist has personal agendas to as to the reason why they want to colonize another planet; some want to go down in history as the first to ever colonize a foreign body hence they are advancing their personal course and not the course of humanity, (Landis 133). This explains why there is a drive for the colonization of other planets and not the one that has already been visited such as the moon.

There is a need to Pointe out that in conclusion that the oppositions of the colonization have also argued that there is a possible of facing the same problems we are running away from if we move to another planet. They clear point out the human body host close to 100 trillion microorganisms which are of about 10,000 difference species with each individual going to Mars which such micro bacterial their high chance of recontamination.

It is believed the extraction and mining of these maternal form locations that is close to the earth would produce about thirty times more metals that have ever been mined by human beings in the course of history and it expected to generate about $20 trillion in the form of annual revenue, (Vajk 133). There is need to stress that space colonization is a form of agreement between NASA and other interested private section business institutions. There have been various notions and claims in support of the possibility of colonizing another planet for example Mars. However, the primary drawback to the commercialization of the exploration of the inherent resource on space is the initial cost outlay and also considerations for the long period required for such heavy outlays to yield returns. However major governments of the world have begun to make plans as to how to categories event that could take place in space. The recent categorization released by such government includes activates such as space hotels space tourism, power satellites, and heavy lifting booster. There need to clearly point out that the indeed colonization of another planet could be considered as a noble venture based on its goals.

Conclusion

The earth has been the natural and faithful host for humanity, and the human race has lived on earth for several years. The earth has always been considered, and the nature and most suitable habitat for humanity based on the fact that is earth is composited suitable of natural gasses and also contains the right temperature to support the human life, however, the earth has evolve and most of the evolutional tendencies of the earth are based on the result of the activities of human beings on earth. As a result of this changes currently experienced on earth, there have been recently publicized desires to colonize other planets the desire to colonize another planet. This has become a topic of discussion in the 21st century. There have been studies conducted in support of the possibility of the existence of life on space. However, this claim has been opposed by many other scholars with some doubts about the ethics behind migrating from earth to other planets. However recent studies have begun to shift from the concept of space habitation to space exploration. It is believed that other plants are enormously rich in resources and such resources could be of benefits to the earth if explored from. However, there has also been consideration of cost limitations as such project requires heavy capital outlays huge investment. There have also been plans by governments to shift its attention to space tourism, space hotels, and the likes. Having considered the two side of this study and also the goal of the space exploration the study, therefore, conclude that colonizing another planet or space colonization can be classified as a noble venture, however there must be utmost consideration for all ethics-related issues. It must also be noted that colonizing another planet will require detailed planning and utmost coordination of all relevant events associated with the desire to go into space.
