Consumer decision process refers to the various stages that an individual passes through before deciding whether or not to buy a product or to use the service. There are different times that I used the above-mentioned concept in making my purchases. One of the time when I used the process was when my family accorded me the duty of purchasing a family car. After identification of the problem or need that was a desire to have a family vehicle, I started searching for information that could help in making a conclusion on which model of the vehicle to buy and from which company. After internal and external search of information, I went ahead to evaluate the various alternatives in the market that helped me to make a purchasing decision based on the best car I found in the market. I then purchased the car and later conducted an after-purchase evaluation with other family members and found it worthy.

In the process of making the purchase decision, advertisement helped in creating awareness on the models available in the market and their prices, the best brand in the industry and the quality of the vehicles. Through advertisement, I was in a position to make the appropriate purchasing decision.

Evaluation of the need or problem is usually the initial stage in buying a product which has been stated effectively in the discussion.
