The number of dating websites and online personal advertisements, which generate the most cash, has increased. The studies also support the continued popularity of dating websites. The current research presents the findings of chi-squared tests conducted on three factors influencing online meetings. By examining the frequencies and percentages across all the variables, the relationship between the variables of gender, age, and educational achievement is investigated. In the analysis, we realize that age, gender and education attainment might be associated with important experiences observed by people who have online romance.

Associations among gender, age, education attainment for internet meeting

Young people show greater interest in trying the online dating sites, which offer the complete arrangement for a romantic date with a similar person. The excitement to meet a completely new person generally drags the teens along with people under twenty five years (Kang, Tanya, and Lindsay H. Hoffman, pg. 201). On the contrary, the adult and experienced people, who are over 35 years old, seek romantic partners through online dating sites. The famous online dating sites of Canada such as Spark.com, eHarmony.com, PerfectMatch.com enables the experienced person to find love using a logical questionnaire. If the love interest, compatibility, choices and preference of two individuals match, and if both agree to proceed, these sites provide the option of further communication.

Gender is also a prime factor

Gender is also a prime factor in the understanding of the dating patterns that are exhibited on online forums as potential suitors seek their mates. Both male and female experience challenges with online dating. Women complain of getting older men writing to them and the experience can be depressing especially when you don’t get the preferred partner (Robert J. et al., pg.670). Men on the other hand complain that most attractive women ignore them and the experience is not any better compared to women’s. Participants in online dating based on gender depend on factors such as age and education attainment. There are older women and younger men on online dating sites. The correlation between age and gender is speculated to be as a result of attainment of education.

The element of education

The element of education also tends to play a significant role in the type of mates that one selects while seeking for suitors through online chatting media. The most desired suitors for women are men who have higher levels of education and a high occupational class as they are thought to be able to provide for the family (Robert J. et al., pg.670). As a result, men would be more willing to lie about each of this segments to appear more educated. Nevertheless, some people prefer similar educational statuses in choosing life mates because it strengthens the bond and would help in the success of the dating process. The consideration of education is especially noted because it comes with other attractive benefits such as income whereby hookup seekers aspire to find mates of higher socio-economic statuses even if it meant another race. Overall, there is little evidence to warrant that education and dating is causal

Relationship among the three variables

The X-squared score should equal 3.84 for a critical region that corresponds to P < 0.05. If the X^2 score is >= 3.84, we may reject the null hypothesis and accept the research hypothesis; and if the X^2 score < 3.84, we may fail to reject the null hypothesis that gender and preference for Internet meeting are independent of each other. From the Chi-Square table, we can see that the Pearson chi-square value is 0.050626. This chi-square value corresponds to an insignificant value of 0.822. These values lead us to conclude that we may not reject the null hypothesis, which means preference for Internet meeting is independent of people’s gender. In the discussion of gender and preference for Internet meeting, we have two gender groups, male and female; and two response categories, people who meet their partner online and people who meet their partner offline. The vast majority of respondents, 45.53% men and 44.66% women, report that they do not use an Internet service to meet their partner. But based on the gender difference, 5.04% men report that they meet their partner online, and this response rate is a little bit higher compared to 4.77% on women. However, in terms of the result of the chi-square test, we conclude that people’s preference for Internet meeting is independent of factor of gender, which means that the gender differences between men and women do not explain why some people choose to use Internet service to meet their partner while some others not.

Association between education attainment and preference for Internet meeting

The X-squared score should equal 7.81 for a critical region that corresponds to P= 7.81, we may reject the null hypothesis and accept the research hypothesis; and if the X-squared score is
