Based on my self-evaluation, I agree with the outcomes of the five personal attributes. First and foremost, I like of my 90% openness to experience score since I am more interested in abstract and complicated ideas and love intellectual and artistic activities. I also have a strong interest in science and art, and I enjoy exploring and learning new things. I despise routine and dull activities, yet I feel at ease in an environment that fosters invention and originality. In my spare time, I enjoy to attend art shows or cultural events, and I am politically liberal. Again, I agree with my high score for conscientiousness (98%), because I believe in accomplishing all my life goals and objectives. I am a person of great self-control and discipline from my childhood, determined and organized to the extent that I would prefer to forego my immediate gratification for my long-term achievement. I am orderly, hardworking, dependable, and resistance to any impulse that tries to divert my attention of achieving my objectives.

My 68% score on extraversion is significantly low from my expectations. However, I still agree with it, as I am that person who seeks motivation and stimulation from the external world. Apparently, I have a strong desire of being successful in life, so I get motivated by individuals who have made it in their lives. I am sociable, with many friends from all dimensions, and I always express positive emotions to any of them. Success, money, and status motivate me to work extra hard, as I believe with possession of those three, I have a chance to be an important person in the society.

Unknowingly, I meet myself putting other people’s needs and interests ahead of mine. Therefore, getting a score of 88% on agreeableness is not a surprise. I don’t believe in competition with others; instead, I advocate for cooperation and togetherness, so that we can achieve our success as a team. I am compassionate, and empathetic, as I always try to understand the fault or the situation of every individual despite their social class or conditions.

Nevertheless, my 23% score in neuroticism finalized my big five personality profile. Consequently, neuroticism describes individual’s tendency to experience some negative feelings or emotions, such as fear, anxiety, guilt, sadness, and shame (Therasa& Vijayabanu, 2015). However, my score justified that I am resistant to all of these hindrances. I hardly suffer mental illnesses, as I know how to handle stress effectively. I have a solid self-esteem, with a positive view on life.

Strengths and Weaknesses

In the current business world, innovation and creativity are the key factors to success. According to Therasa& Vijayabanu (2015), open-minded people are believed to be intellectually curious, sensitive to beauty, and ready to challenge their normal way of thinking. Therefore, a high score on openness to experiences give me a competitive advantage in the job market. Again, the personality makes me have a great change tolerant or appetite, where I am not resentful in adopting change. The current world is uncertain; therefore, it requires individuals with impressionable minds and adaptability. Apparently, if I happen to be among the top management team in any organization, the trait will be significant in creating a working environment that supports new ideas from the subordinates and enhances teamwork.

Another strength is on my high score on extraversion, which makes me sociable, courageous and accommodating. People with the extrovert trait are ambitious, and they work hard for money and fame. They also have positive emotions, with more enthusiasm, desire, joy, and excitement (Carretta, Ree, & Teachout, (2012). With such traits, I can work tirelessly towards attaining my life or career goals. Management profession requires people who mind the wellbeing of others, therefore, in my workplace, I can acknowledge and maintain a healthy relationship with my colleagues and subordinates.

Being conscientiousness is an important driver towards accomplishing my objectives. As stated by Therasa& Vijayabanu (2015), conscientious people are perfect in goal setting, they work towards them, and minor setbacks cannot stop them. For an individual to attain his/her goals, self-discipline is a requirement, and power to resist any disruptions or impulses. The trait keeps me in a better position because, I can do everything possible to reach my target, and nothing can divert my attention towards that.

However, my high score on agreeableness acts as my biggest weakness. I am an empathizer, who pays more attention to others mental state, and I easily trust other persons' behavior. The trait puts me at a risk of being hurt or offended by people around me. Again, some careers such as management require command, with some dictatorship, to make the staffs conduct their roles responsibly. Apparently, being too agreeable lessen success because one spends more of their time maintaining an extensive network of connection, which may consume a big part of the working hours. Studies affirm that some ruthlessness is essential to reach the highest positions in an organization (Yang & Hwang, 2014).

Also, my low score on neuroticism is a weakness, which may affect my performance. The personality makes me relax, and have no worries on the unknown. It may force me to remain calm and fail to plan for the future. The quality makes me stress-free of stressors like losing a job or getting a divorce, which at real sense are things that are supposed to bother a normal human being. In an organization as a manager, the subordinates can copy my character, which might keep the business at a high risk of failure.

My Personality Influence in my Job Performance

My big five personality traits may have different implications in my job performance. For instance, being open to experience can improve my performance and relevancy in any organization, as I can be more than willing to learn new things, inquisitive, curious, and gentle to derive new ideas that may improve the standard functioning of the firm. With an open mind, I can tap any opportunity that may be of benefit to the wellbeing of an organization. Most organizations have a strategic plan, which includes the firm’s long-term and short-term objectives. Similarly, workers are given targets by the management team, which they have to work towards the accomplishment (Yang & Hwang, 2014). With a 98% score of conscientiousness, I can comfortably work towards the set organization’s goal, at the same time attain my personal goals.

According to Therasa& Vijayabanu (2015), people with a high score on extraversion requires motivating factors for them to work hard. The score may influence my performance in two different ways. For instance, working with an organization that offers both intrinsic and extrinsic rewards or incentives for high performers can be a motivating factor to me. However, being in a workplace that does not reward performers may be a hindrance for me to work diligently.

The attribute of being agreeable comes with the aspect of being submissive. As asserted by Yang & Hwang (2014), in any formal employment, being submissive to the seniors is a significant concept, which makes individuals work towards achieving the common goal. Therefore, if I am an employee of any organization, the character may give me a chance of performing my obligations extemporary. However, with informal employment, the attribute may limit me from achieving maximum results. As stated above, some ruthlessness is vital to get to the top level of management.

Finally, a low score on neuroticism will hinder my adequate job performance. Individuals who are neurotic are reluctant, and nothing acts as their stressor (Carretta, Ree, & Teachout, 2012). Leaving without some fear is not healthy because one may establish some projects without calculating the risks. Same case with being in an employment agreement where fear of being fired is crucial. Hence, the aspect of being neurotic may have an adverse impact on my job performance.
