Cultural stativity is a set of skills that give us an opportunity to understand the individuals who are different from our self, thereby becoming better in providing them with better services. In the current working environment, organizations court foreign workers and employ foreign workers as they go global and take opportunities in the emerging markets. Ignorance to a nation's culture can be detrimental because they can offend alienate employees and offend important clients in a foreign country and can even lead to reduction services and products sold.

Cultural Sensitivity and Product

Being cultural sensitive to other people’s culture can necessitate the selling of commodities to other countries. So many multinational organization have failed to make it on the global scale because of failure to understand the culture of the foreign nations. For instance, the film “Hollywood” faced a lot of criticism from various countries such as Burma, Sri Lanka, and Malaysia because it lacked sensitivity toward the symbols.

One-on-One Cultural Sensitivity

A personal level cultural sensitivity can be quite essential. Organization courting executives and employees from a state with particular social beliefs and norms can do well only if they respect the beliefs in those countries. Failure to respect other can escalate from a personal offense and spell doom especially if you intend to do business in that particular country.

When an individual or a business wants to produce advertisement and sell products in a foreign nation, often they will use the language of the host country. Failure to honor the foreign language can lead to a cultural relationship problem between the organization and the foreign citizens. An advertisement of an alcohol-branded "Irish Mist" went astray in Germany because the multinational company failed to recognize that Mist is also a Germany word meaning manure.

Cultural Sensitivity and Staffs

Because of globalization companies have the capacity of recruiting and outsourcing professionals from different nations, this means that organizational leaders must be sensitive to other countries culture if they aim at remaining sustainable. Failure to appreciate other people’s traditions and language can alienate the foreign clients, and if the materials are not translated into the language of the locals, it can prevent them from doing their jobs.

Diversity is a reality. The world seems to be connected to labor, trade, and communication practices. The changes in any part of the world have the potential of spilling over to other nations. Considering our increased interconnection problems and diversity, working together seems to be the strategy to fulfill our goals. Because of economic and social change is coming faster and faster at us, various organizations understand the need for cultural competence. Cultural differences can either hurt or help the way institutions function. Creating an organization the multination makes strengthen the efforts even as we deal with differences. Institutions are ready to become culturally competent when potential leaders and groups identify the needs of the cultural groups and know exactly what is to be done and how it affects the particular group involved (Association for Business Communication, 2015, p. 14). Parties should mutual understanding and respect among those involved, increase involvement and participation of other cultural groups and promote equality and inclusion ("Chapter 2: Team and Intercultural Communication: 2-3 Intercultural Communication," 2017).
