The method by which people share thoughts, feelings, and information can be referred to as communication. Since communication is a process, it must follow some fundamental guidelines. Both the source, or point of origin, and the destination, or the place the messages are meant to go, are necessary for communication. When the anticipated feedback is received, the communication procedure is finished. (Luhmann, 1992). I have chosen interpersonal communication as my most preferred and engaging form of communication based on my understanding of the various forms, values, and significance of communication.

Interpersonal communication is the process by which two people exchange knowledge and feelings. This form of communication can be classified as one of the most efficient methods of communications because it provides and avenues for facial contacts in the process of communication. The forms of messages adopted by interpersonal communication could be verbal or non-verbal. Interpersonal commutation is a broad concept. Therefore it is not only concerned about what has been said or the language used in communication, however, it also considers factors such as gestures, facial expressions, and body languages. (Wood, 2015).

There are specific factors that characterize all forms of interpersonal communication such factors includes the communicator i.e. the person initiating the communication, he or she is also the sender of the message. The message, this is information we intend to pass across, and it could be in broad categories such as oral, verbal, non-verbal and by facial expression. The receiver and the channel, the receiver is the person the message has been sent to, and the channel is the medium by which such messages have been sent across to the receiver. Feedbacks, this is required to determine if the message sent across is understood or to ascertain the effect of the message on the receiver, (Wood, 2015).

Having pointed my most preferred communication method as the interpersonal approach, I will like to at this juncture point out my strengths and weaknesses and other factors for consideration. My primary strength when engaging in interpersonal communication is my ability to define the purpose of the communication, Identify the intended receipt, determine the message channel and effectively solicit for feedbacks on which I will base the level of the effectiveness of my communications, (Hunt, et al., 2000).

I will also like point out that my primary weakness when engaging in impersonal communication is my inability to adopt and effectively use the right body language or facial expressions to drive home my point. I am aware that is it important to provide gesticulations and maintain eye contacts during communication. However, I have not been able to completely implement such technical communication skills in my interpersonal communications, (Hunt, et al., 2000).

There is need to conclude by stating that in my conversations, I have learned to adopt the right values, attitudes, beliefs and behaviors, I have learned how to be fair in my choice of words, i.e. avoid the use of insulting and derogatory remarks. I have learned how to ensure that my messages are clear so as to aid quick assimilation by recipients and this I have learned to do by adopting clear and unambiguous terms during communication. I know that my attitudes could hamper my communication or contribute to its success hence I have learned how to maintain the right attitude for all my communications at all times
