Motion pictures

A movie, also known as a film or motion picture, is a collection of still images that, when seen on a screen, give the impression that they are moving thanks to the phi effect.

I knew nothing about the phi phenomenon prior to reading this chapter. I used to believe that movies were genuine, but as I've learned more, my perception of what a movie is has altered.

The fact that a film involves a multifaceted appeal to many similar senses than the latter bring is one of the ways that the experiences of films, printed texts, and photos differ from one another. In watching a play, there is much involvement and sense of emotion in the house. Watching a movie may not bring out so much emotion as a play would.

The word film used to have just a technical meaning, i.e.; Film is the medium on which motion pictures are fixed. The word has ceased to be a purely technical express of format, even in the industry further promoting the unconscious interchange of the words; film and movie.

The situation in the movies may be unforgettable making one think the circumstances more than once. The irony in the plot may also trigger thoughts of what feels normal may not be normal for other people.

Cultural invisibility is used to boost the normal viewer’s unconscious beliefs and perceptions. It is different from cinematic as the filmmakers use it to impose the viewer’s beliefs.

Implicitly refers to the interpretation that shows connections within the story such as human relations in the movie. Explicit is interpretation of the given story for example if a movie has obscenity.

I would not be accustomed to seeing them playing a different role just because I have seen them before in a. I would also enjoy the movie more If they were good actors.

Trailers, sometimes the movie is not as thrilling or captivating as the trailer.

I am finding elements present in the particular film structure like sound.One alternative approach I would take is Cultural analysis as it uncovers parts to help one understand.

I would not term the experience as challenging, but it is a spring of more information.

Chapter Two Answers

Content is the focus of the artwork and Form is the means by which that focus is oppressed. Content offers something to express while Form provisions the techniques necessary to present it to the viewers.

Filmmakers can utilize attractive director's and screenwriter's audience expectations as well as optimistic assessments from friends and ads.

It is a technique that makes different lines of act seem to be happening concurrently. It creates an illusion of networks among these various shots, leaving an impression of constant anxiety which creates drama.

Movies use patterns to cloud the viewer and make it appear as if the scene heading in a particular direction, to change story-line and catch the audience impromptu then instantly. Also, certain types of shot can change the traditional pattern. This is attained by foremost having an order of shots that establish a certain mood, to then alter light, color, framing, or content.

Movies create an illusion of movement through Two interrelating optical and perceptual phenomena: persistence of vision and the phi phenomenon. Persistence of vision is the procedure by which the human brain holds an image of a portion of a second lengthier than the eye records it, while the phi phenomenon is the illusion of movement created by events that follow each other fast.

They can move seamlessly from one space to another like when the camera goes from place to place or away from its focus, change the physical, or portion time in many diverse ways.

Movies can manipulate time using slow motion or extreme compression of huge swaths of time. Also, Time may also be stopped momentarily, known as the freeze-frame.

What realism refers to the tendency to view or represent things as they are.anti-realism, on the other hand, is a concern for the speculative, or fantastic. Verisimilitude is vital to them both because it can realize a substantial appearance of actuality.

Cinematic language refers to the acknowledged methods, by which the movies communicate with the viewer. It's important as it makes a more complex meaning to the viewer.

we identify with the camera lens as it generates meaning and a set of procedures.
