What kind of eatery is prosperous?

The founding owners of the original Mandarin restaurant, Diana Chiu, stated that "every customer must be satisfied as smiling as they leave." She and I both agree. I think eating is a very fun activity. Thus, a successful restaurant must provide a cheerful environment for its patrons.

The Mandarin restaurant's center area

The Mandarin restaurant's center area is illuminated by a chandelier that hangs from the ceiling. Both of the restaurant's pillars are painted crimson, and a golden dragon surrounds the top of each pillar. Traditional Chinese architecture is marked by the colors red and gold, which are symbolic of happiness, fortune, and wealth. The guests are scattered in four spacious compartments that each one has a unique décor. The waiter brings me to the seat, which a plum themed room. In Chinese culture, plum, orchid, bamboo, and chrysanthemum symbolize the "Four Gentlemen among Flowers". This element is very common in traditional Chinese architecture. The whole restaurant full of Chinese characteristics. From the architectural point of view, this traditional Chinese style of decoration is very festive. In fact, I always have an illusion that today is the Chinese New Year, when every time I walk into this restaurant.

What is your first thought when you hear the Chinese New Year?

No matter what you think, my initial thought is “Happiness”. This simile like food memory. Enjoying your food is not only the taste of the time, it's also the memory of the other time you enjoyed the same food. For example, when you are eating a cake you will think of birthday, share fun time with families. However, you may be cannot believe what I said, but the children's laughter and smile on their face are Indelible evidences. The Mandarin restaurant is suitable for a wedding party and the birthday party. The waiter will clean the whole compartment and help you layout the scene, when you make an appointment for the party. It is worth mentioning that the Mandarin restaurant will provide free audio equipment. You can also order a wedding cake or birthday cake in the restaurant. I remember the last time on my cousin's birthday party. I and Amy’s mother arrived at the restaurant ahead of time, and then the waiter was very warm and friendly to help us to arrange the party scene. The waiter who was wearing a panda doll suit walked in when the cheerful birthday song sounded. It holds a princess cake that a Barbie in the middle of the cake was wearing a pink princess dress which made of cream. This compartment is a bamboo themed room, when panda and bamboo these two elements appear together that make me joyful. Amy clutched panda did not let it goes and her entire face beamed with happiness.

Every time when I go to the Mandarin restaurant

Every time when I go to the Mandarin restaurant will always remember happy memories. The friendly attitude of the waiter and the festive decoration style will construct this joyful atmosphere. This atmosphere is in my memory, both when I feel happiness is also think of it at the same time.

How other customers felt and behaved in the restaurant:

Generally, Mandarin restaurant gives customers a unique experience that makes them feel comfortable and satisfied. The space inside the restaurant is luxurious and this boosts the comfort feeling. The ancient architectural style gives a feel of tradition blended perfectly in a modern setting. The space is mostly quiet and calm and hence is suited for family dinners as well as corporate events. Notably, environment created around the restaurant gives a unique feeling to customers. Services are highly professional and this further increased the level of satisfaction. Most customers have expressed their contentment stating that at Mandarin Restaurant they have enjoyed memorable dining experiences.

The behavior in the restaurant seems to be highly influenced by the environment that has been created.

From the moment one gets in, one gets the feeling that this is a professional kind of restaurant and hence their behaviors are usually well observed. They behave politely and are friendly to the staff. Additionally, customers have notable respect for the furniture, glassware and crockery. Hence there are few to no breakages and/or losses. Before being served any dish, the staffs wash the customers’ hands. While dinning, customers are less messy. After they are done with their meals, they pay bills without grumbling. Due to the high level of professionalism that is observed by the restaurant staffs, there are very few customer complaints if any.

The social world the restaurant is trying to create:

The atmosphere in the restaurant is unique and can be noticed from the entrance. Customers are met with well decorated tables and a luxurious space which is designed in an ancient architectural style. There are lanterns that are dropping from the high ceilings, ancient pots, chopsticks, tables and chairs all arranged in a very professional way. This creates a social world for corporate people, mostly business class and top officials for various organizations. Basically, the services are to the standards of a luxury restaurant hence creating a social world for people with a high status, mostly wealthy to middle income earners.

How I felt and my experience dine in the restaurant

In very simple terms, the experience was wonderful. It was an experience of a lifetime, one that is highly memorable. I felt satisfied due to the top class services I received from the staffs. The experience of dining in the restaurant was unique from that of most other restaurants. The ancient architectural design and the unique arrangement coupled with the highly professional services contributed to this experience. When I entered the restaurant, I was welcomed by friendly and polite staffs who shown me the way and where to sit. They made me feel comfortable as I made my order and waited to be served. Before my order was brought, one staff washed my hands. Later the order was brought and the staff who brought it politely asked whether I would like anything else and then welcomed me to enjoy the meal. There was some cool instrumental music playing which created a good ambiance and a great experience filled with tradition and ancient Vietnam. Dining in Mandarin restaurant was one of the greatest experiences I have ever had. It was comforting and filled with nostalgic moments.
