In the last several decades, the world has developed so quickly in the fields of technology and other fields. Even though it is the truth, we cannot presume that humankind has a desire to live in attractive houses. Interior design can take care of that. Because of this, the market trend for interior design has been one that is indicative of an upward trend. Contrary to recent history, when interior design was not considered seriously, it is now in high demand and sells like hotcakes. There is this common informal saying that says building house is not such a hard task to perform; the difficulty lies in the furnishing process. I don't know how truth that adage holds, but I want to believe that there is some truth in it. This is because interior design is such a humungous and time-consuming task. It has to be done carefully and to one's best ability to perfectly fit the client's description and hence meet his or her expectations. The fact that an interior designer is in a position to design as stipulated by the client puts him in a good position for business.

Everyone wants a beautiful home; a home in which you can invite friends over for an evening party comfortably and every single one of them will be dying to know how you settled on such fancy designs. Interior designers handle everything right from the doormat all the way to the bedroom closet, more often than they prefer that the client chips in and gives his or her ideas. The client may suggest that some family photographs are placed at strategic positions within the living room or maybe some teddy bears placed on top of the wall unit. The choice of the paint color is equally important. It should not be a shouting color rather an accommodative yet aesthetic one (Reiser, Dempsey, 2012).

Research shows that over the past two decades the desire for the interior design has grown by more than half in both the consumer and provision perspective. Being an interior designer is a well-paying job, and quite many people have ventured into it to sustain the enormous demand. The state of California ranks top with the highest number of registered interior designers in the United States. Florida closely follows on the second position with Alaska registering the lowest. Interior designer jobs are likely to increase tremendously in a few years to give the revenue the industry generates for the government.

Our team focused on two case studies, and one of them was that of the Indesign Interior Design and Architecture Company. The company has esteemed workers who will not stop at anything short of perfection. It is the company. The company is based in Los Angeles, California. One of the successful major projects that the company has laid its fingers on is the Grand Hyatt Suite in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The suite is a seven-star suite with a breath-taking design that has attracted the attention of royalty and heads of states worldwide (Morris, 2016).

Below is an illustration of the Grand Hyatt Suite in Kuala Lumpur.

The suite comes with master bedrooms fully furnished with king-size beds and a ceramic view of the Petronas Tower in the distance. The bedroom is also fitted with a bathroom with the latest in the market technology bathtub right at the center. The living room has 102-inch flat screen LED television sets with access to cable and satellite TVs. There is also access to individual wireless hotspots.

The other firm that we focused on is the Ownby Design Firm located in Scottsdale, Arizona. The firm majorly operates in the Hawaiian Islands and has been recognized with several awards for their masterpieces. The best thing about this company is that they put their best efforts in giving the client a state of the art design and surprisingly cost efficient price. The firm has taken part in magnificent projects among them the Camelback Modern Ranch, East Valley Mediterranean Estate not forgetting the Mummy Mountain Modern which is all exquisite. (Ching, Binggeli, 2012).

From the above case studies, we can easily tell that there is stiff competition in the industry. Every firm is struggling to be recognized as having the best designs. The firms have done vast research and keep coming with new and unique designs that can easily fit into the current market needs, in this case, the residential apartments. To design such apartments, one must put all the factors into consideration. Such factors could include the fact that there are minors in the house and also what members of the family like doing during their free time. For instance, in a family that prefers reading during leisure time, a study will be quite crucial.

Learning institutions all over the world have recently incorporated Interior design as a course that students can learn at tertiary level. The aim is to equip the students with the necessary skills to take interior design to a whole new level. The government has, in turn, created an avenue for interior designers to work in a conducive environment. This has been made possible through a series of legislation laws that have been passed in favor of the industry (Chi, Kang, Wang, 2013). The results are nothing but impressive according to research conducted five years ago.

The research shows that over the past five years the industry has been generating revenue of 16 billion U.S. Dollars on an annual basis. The growth level was also realized to be at 8% annually with the figure increasing steadily. The growth rate is expected to be twice this figure or even more by the year 2022. It is also important to note that the industry has employed 125 000 individuals over the past five years. Businesses have also not been left behind with a staggering 95 000 businesses that have specified in real estate interior design. The industry looks promising, and the above figures are likely to skyrocket to more impressive figures (Moxon,2012).

The world is such a beautiful place, and it is all because of color. If the world were gray without any color, then it would look so boring. Interior design makes the difference by adding aesthetic value to the interior of buildings. When the Burj Al Arab; the world's only 7-star hotel was constructed in 1994, interior design was such an essential aspect that Emir of the United Arab Emirates spent a fortune on it (Reed, 2017). It is the small things that matter and interior design could be the central nervous system of architectural masterpieces.
