Rikki-Tikki-Tavi is a short story in Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book. This tale about a valiant young Indian grey mongoose has been reprinted and anthologized several times. It is a great example of the importance of writing as a means of self-expression. In addition to being popular in children's literature, Rikki-Tikki-Tavi also has profound literary and societal meanings.

Rikki-Tikki-Tavi

During the early morning hours, the little boy climbed on Teddy's shoulder to eat his boiled egg and banana. He slept on each lap, hoping to become a house-mongoose one day. His mother, Rikki-tikki's mother, lived in General Segowlee. She had taught him what to do when he met a white man.

When the family goes to sleep, Rikki begins to patrol the house. He runs into Chuchundra, who suggests that Nag may have a wicked plan. Soon after, he overhears Nagaina and Nag plotting to kill the Rikki-Tikki-Tavi. The two are surrounded by their unhatched eggs, which will be a good target for the evil birds.

Rudyard Kipling

Among the many famous nursery rhymes, Rudyard Kipling's Rikki-Tikki-Tavi has a special place in our hearts. A tale of childhood innocence, it is one of the most popular tales to be adapted to many forms of media. Whether it is a picture book, song, or play, Rikki-Tikkki-Tavi will never fail to enchant readers.

"Rikki-Tikki-Tavi" is an excellent example of this trend in children's literature. This period saw the rise of fantasy worlds, which appealed to children's imagination. Earlier stories were written without the child's point of view in mind. Many of the books for children were adaptations of works for adults. This shift changed the way children's literature was written.

George Bernard Shaw

In "The Adventures of Rikki-Ticki-Tavi," a 19th century English family discovers a half-drowned mongoose. The family decides to keep the creature as a pet, naming it Rikki Tikki Tavi. Rikki soon finds himself confronted by two deadly king cobras who had been allowed to roam the garden while the house was unoccupied.

When Rikki Tikki goes for his nightly walk around the house, he hears Chuchundra warn him of the presence of the Nagaina and Nag. Then, he hears a scratching sound coming from the bathroom sluice and steals away. Upon returning, he finds that the Nag has made his plans to kill the human family and leave the house empty, so he can raise cobras and rule the garden.

Mongoose

The young mongoose Rikki-Tikki-Tavi is rescued by an English family after being washed away in a flood. He soon becomes a legendary mongoose, and is adopted by the family. He is a natural enemy of snakes, and his presence in the garden of a bungalow threatens a pair of king cobras. He also possesses the characteristics of the archetypal hero, and uses his strength, loyalty, and courage to save Teddy's family and save the people of the house.

As a mongoose, Rikki is very curious, and needs to investigate everything. He is also brave, and will even face a huge cobra if necessary. He is persistent and determined to rid himself of snakes, and the reader gets a good sense of what a mongoose would do in such a situation. He will become a beloved pet to many children, and is sure to become a favorite among your children!

Cobras

In Cobras rikki tikki, Rikki-Tiki is a young bird who has trouble thinking and remembering things. He makes friends with a variety of birds in his garden, including a Darzee bird whose fledgling is eaten by a cobra. As soon as the cobras start to harass his family, he decides to kill one of the snakes. After a fierce battle, he kills another deadly snake. This success in killing cobras makes him a hero and the entire family feel responsible for their safety.

Rikki-Tiki-Tavi has never seen a live cobra before, but he has a natural desire to kill them. During the battle, he kills the cobra femelle, Nagaina, after which he escaped and left his family. He then hunts down the other cobras, chasing them to their nest, where they attack the ewes.
