Previous studies have shown that theater dates back to the sixth century, yet it did not reach its full potential until the contemporary age. Researchers have sought to come up with strategies to improve and make theater grow better and better every day in light of the increase in interest in it. Every generation has had the opportunity to actively contribute to the development of theater in some way. The importance of everyone participating in theater is supported by numerous factors, according to studies. People can become active and optimistic through theater. Considering that there could be other harmful and dangerous activities that people could participate in, theatre makes use of all idle time available which keeps people busy and not have time for any destructive activity. Another major reason why theatre should be considered is that it creates a space where people could network and share ideas and resources. Since many people interact and meet during theatres, it creates room for people to interact and share critical ideas, share the joy and comfort each other. The theatre is an also an important part of people’s lives because it enables people to critically think and look into their life and their actions. Through this, people are able to check for areas which need improvement and correction. In a way, it acts as a mirror where people can reflect into their actions and look for ways to correct the bad actions from happening again. One major part of theatre which is always considered important and should be part of each and every theatre is providing knowledge and skills which are important for growth in life and day to day life.

Over the years, with the growth of theatre from the old traditional models to the modern theatre, the live theatre concept has remained constant over the years. According to researchers, a live theatre has been a perfect platform which has facilitated an interaction between the theatre audience and performers. It has created a venue where the audience is able to share emotions in between themselves and between the audience and performers. Due to this a relationship between the various audience and performers has been created. On the other hand, a film occurs where there is no direct interaction between the audience and performers. The media is recorded which is later aired on a screen or projector. There are various distinctive featured experienced between live theatre and film. There are four main distinctive factors which include emotions and experience shared, sound, presentation and preparation and finally the location. In a live theatre due to the varying size of the audience, the actor needs to put more effort and energy towards the act so that all the audience in a particular location are able to see and hear the action. This is because the audience in a live theatre needs to fully understand what goes on so as to fully comprehend and move with the play. The film incorporates the use of technology which improves quality of sound and video. Due to this, the performers are under a controlled environment which allows them the benefit of reduced effort the execution of the performance. Due to the live interaction between the audience and performers in live theatre, the performers are able to share emotions and facial expressions to support their act unlike in a theatre where it is not possible to use facial expressions because of lack of interaction. One of the main differences is that in a live theatre the performance occurs instantly where the audience and performers are on the same venue, unlike a film where it can be recorded for a future duration.

The nature of theatres has grown and evolved greatly over the years. There has been a need to improve and make the theatres better so as to create more impact. Also in a way, the design and nature of the theatre differ depending on the location and the intended message or role of the act. The most common and popular theatre spaces in the modern era include proscenium theatre, thrust and open stage, arena theatres and end-stage theatres. The proscenium theatre is different from the other theatres because of its huge capacity and presence of a proscenium wall which separates the audience and the auditorium. The second type of theatre is a thrust or open stage theatre which has gained popularity because of its huge capacity to handle a bigger audience with its design having the audience surrounding the auditorium platform. The third type is the arena theatre which is a smaller theatre with the ability to handle a smaller audience. The main unique feature of the arena theatre is that the audience is set up in such a way that it surrounds the stage or auditorium section. The fourth type of theatre space is the end stage theatre has a small capacity with its set up being one which the auditorium section and the audience section are on the same level with the audience on one side and the performers on the other side.

According to research and studies that were done in the past, there are two types of acting namely classical acting and modern acting. Classical acting has been in existence for a long duration of time and can be traced back from the design and concept developed by actors such as Stanislavski and Saint-Denis. The system and design of how classical acting is done are mainly based on concepts developed by classical actors with a heavy reliance on dialogue. Modern acting came as a result of developments on the classical theory which encouraged the growth of on development of a relationship with the audience by breathing more life into the act so as to make it more real. This was achieved through incorporation of emotions and expressions by the actor so as to try to create something close to a real-life experience. The two types of acting have various different features which came out clearly in the planning and execution stage. One of the main differences is that the classical form of acting did not allow for the actor to deviate from the script. As such the classical acting did not put so much emphasis on showing the emotions and feelings in the act. Compared to modern acting, modern acting put more emphasis on the emotions of the audience and the need to create a provision for the actors to deviate from the script so as to execute the act in a better manner.

One of the main people who revolutionized the acting industry, Constantin Stanislavsky. Constantin was a popular and skilled actor who made a mark in the theatre in the modern era. One of his key accomplishments is his ability to develop a technique of acting which over the years has gained public acceptance. The seven steps included the following questions: who am I? Where am I? When is it? What do I want? Why do I want it? How will I get it? And what do I need to overcome? Answering the first question who am I helped in solving identity issues. It enabled the actor to firs understand himself before making a step to see which character he can bring the most of. This played a role to ensure the actors understood their capabilities to play a particular role and make the performance a success. The second question, where am I, enabled the actor to understand how he is going to perform in a front of a big audience which made it easy for the actor to adjust swiftly to be able to perform with courage. The third question, what time is it, enabled the actor to be able to adjust in a proper manner so as to be relevant to the current situation and season in place. The fourth and fifth question, what and why do I want, played a role in providing meaning and reason why the actor is performing which acted a huge motivation for the actor to perform well and execute the task. The questions how will I get what I want and how to overcome challenges helped in providing the various avenues the actor could use to have the task accomplished and ways of ensuring that the challenges that could crop up are dealt with in a timely manner.

There are two main persons who are tasked with bringing an idea to life and ensuring that the act is well executed. These people are producer and director. The roles of these two people are separate but they work together in harmony to ensure that the act is a success. A movie director is a person whose main task is to ensure that the various bits of the movie or film are well assembled and are working together smoothly. They also play a big role in the background to develop each technical aspect and ensure they are well utilized. The producer is the second vital personnel whose role is to ensure that the intended concept is developed and made into existence from the start to the end. Also, he has a role in ensuring that the financial budget allocated has been well utilized. The role of a movie producer is felt throughout the whole process starting from preproduction, production, and production. Due to these, there are various producers in charge of the various stages in place. Their creativity also is much required so as to obtain a magical and sensational act. Their presence throughout the whole process is much required and it is important to have them so as to get the intended results. The main difference between the director and producer is the fact that the director's main role is to ensure that the concept is well developed and executed while the producer's main role is to ensure that the resource is available and well aligned to achieve the intended objective.
