The project at hand

The project at hand is the creation of an application for a retailing organization that will allow customers to shop online using their mobile phones. The recipients' acceptance of this program upon completion implies that the project fits their expectations and demands. The realization of this success, therefore, is dependent not only on the client's involvement in the process, but also on quality control, particularly throughout the planning of the design and development of the software. There are three key metrics in this regard: design of experiments at the planning stage, value-added analysis at the assurance stage, and order correctness at quality control (Rever, 2007). In most cases, the idea of quality by clients is subjective and may differ from that of the project manager since they focus more on timelines and response to their needs. In the event that there is a differing perception of quality, there is need to separate the definitions based on the process, business, and client requirements (Rever, 2007).

Engaging the clients

Besides engaging the clients through the whole process, the project manager at the initiation and planning stage have to agree on the specific expectations and together develop a flowchart of the entire project. Also, they have to decide on the timelines of each milestone, and how changes brought by the client within the development process impact on both the scope, time, and cost of the project (Rever, 2007). The project manager relays the importance of meeting the quality through competency of skills, organizational standards, and continuous assessments to ensure the deadlines and needs are to the required expectations.

Elimination of project failure risk

To ensure elimination of the risk of project failure, the person in charge will ensure that there are right skills, resources, and a clear plan of the software. Further, the involvement of all stakeholders in the process and aligning them to the outcome of the project will enhance the commitment to overall success (Gamage, 2017). Through quality planning, assurance, and control, the changes in the projects' development and design of the project will meet the deadlines and the objectives of the business, sponsors, and beneficiaries. In the event that the risks identified at an early stage indicate minimal success, it should be canceled and evaluated on how to ensure the integration of the quality standards and needs of all the stakeholders.
