The Importance of Feedback in the Learning Process

The learning process requires feedback, which is advantageous for both teachers and pupils. By identifying their strengths and flaws, teacher learning is aided by feedback from students. A teacher can know where they can develop by being aware of their strengths and shortcomings. They can also master the abilities that will assist students understand and interact while enhancing the learning environment. Students’ feedback can assist teachers in developing effective class management strategies and making necessary corrections. Feedback from students gives teachers a shared feeling of purpose and allows them to learn from students’ sharp viewpoints. Having a variety of viewpoints gives a teacher the opportunity to analyze feedback and improve their performance while learning new information and effective teaching techniques. Feedback also helps teachers learn how to tailor their teaching to the preferences of the students and seek to meet these preferences while teaching (Floden, 2016). Floden (2016) state that student’s feedback has a large impact on teaching and improves courses offering teachers a platform to learn. Student feedback allows teachers tailor instruction towards more case studies, seminars, and tutorials, allowing them to learn from these instructional materials. Feedback from students also offers teachers insight to other teaching platforms and provides them a rationale for more research and commitment towards improving their teaching skills allowing them to learn. They incorporate acquired knowledge and learning in the class environment improving their effectiveness and meet student needs. Student’s feedback offers insight and understanding to teachers and provides learning opportunities, improving the learning environment for both students and teachers.
