Hello, my name is XXXX

I am a SUNY New Paltz College business student majoring in Finance and Marketing. I’m writing to ask for your assistance. I’m sure you get a lot of letters asking for help from your very successful and prestigious production firm. However, I would appreciate the opportunity to introduce you to a new film concept. No feature film has ever been made about Pakistan’s Benazir Bhutto. Bhutto was Pakistan’s first female prime minister. Benazir Bhutto was assassinated in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, in 2007. It is my pleasure to recommend that the Showtime Networks should produce a film about Benazir Bhutto because of her outstanding accomplishments. Some of Bhutto’s most lasting achievements in Pakistan were “The empowerment of women by extending education opportunities, and making dramatic reforms in women’s rights” (Bennett 72). She was a champion of equality, and her efforts lead to the greatest changes in the perception of a woman in the modern society of Muslim states.

Synopsis [Benhzir Bhutto]

Early Life

Benazir Bhutto was born in Karachi, Pakistan, on June 21, 1953. Her father, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was a former prime minister of Pakistan who established the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).

Benhzir Bhutto accomplishes her early education in Pakistan; later Benhzir Bhutto attends her higher education at Harvard University, where she pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in comparative government. Also; she accomplished her course in international law and diplomacy at Oxford University. Bhutto is reported to be “a powerful woman with vibrant education grounds to handle the political issue of the Pakistan people after the hanging of her father” (“Benazir Bhutto Facts.”).

The leader of the Pakistan People’s Party: In 1977, Benazir Bhutto returns to Pakistan, and she suffers a house arrest after General Mohammad Zia ul-Haq led a military coup to overthrow her father’s government. In 1978 Zia-ul-Haq became the president of Pakistan. Her father was charged with murder of a political opponent and convicted. She later inherits the leadership of the Pakistan People’s Party. In 1984, she moved to England and became the Pakistan People’s Party leader in exile. On April 10, 1986, she returned to Pakistan and focused on nationwide elections campaigns. On December 18, 1987, she married Asif Ali Zardari, a rich landowner in Karachi.

Pakistan President

In 1988, Zia-ul-Haq died in a plane crash. The crash marks the end of the dictatorial regime of Zia ul-Haq, and Bhutto was elected prime minister. Bhutto was later defeated in the 1990 election and faced justice in the court of law on various charges of office misconduct and misuse of power. She won the 1993 election, however, she faced defeat in 1996. During her exile in Dubai and Britain, Benhzir Bhutto faces conviction of corruption in 1999, and she serves a three years imprisonment, though, Bhutto continued to strengthen the Pakistan people’s party and re-affirmed as the leader of the PPP in 2002. October 18, 2007, Bhutto is granted amnesty on all corruption charges, and she returns to Pakistan.

Assassination

Bhutto was assassinated in Rawalpindi on December 27, 2000, after an election campaign rally. An assassin shot her and then blew himself up. It was a mass killing that left 28 others lifeless and 100 in critical wounds.

Why she is a great legacy in Pakistan

Bhutto was a humble leader; she once said: “My father worked from morning to night. I worked from morning to night. My father sacrificed himself for the country, what did he get? He got hanged. What did I get? I got slandered.”(“Benazir Bhutto Facts.”) She also said: “Let there be a new leadership. I want my party to win the next elections, and I will help my party prepare to win. But I don’t want to be prime minister.”(“Benazir Bhutto Facts.”) Bhutto was an extraordinary leader who fought for her people without the greed for political powers. She was willing to make her party win the elections, but she had no interests in the position of the prime minister. Also, Bhutto was an esteemed woman. She faces charges of political malpractice, and she is sentenced to five years’ imprisonment for corruption charges, fined more than $8 million by militant leader Pervez Musarf. The court later released her for lack of evidence. Bhutto was even exiled in 1984, but came back in 1986. Despite all the hardships Bhutto had to purse, she managed to hold herself together. Also, Bhutto is a historical leader and hero whom enough light has not been shed upon yet. Also, most facets of her life outshine the other in brilliance. She was a real leader whose genuine commitment to enriching the voiceless, exploited, and downtrodden masses is fresh in records. Historically speaking, there has been no phenomenon woman like Bhutto in the entire sub-continental politics of a century, where women were considered voiceless.

The Audience

The audience of the film will be the whole population of Pakistan. The film will focus on the political leaders and the political organization of the civilian. Also, the next audience will be the women institutions and women empowerment agencies that seek to document the effort of the women in Islamic states.

The message of the Benhzir Bhutto film

The core message is going to the Islamic society to end injustice to women. The film outlines the struggle of women through-out all Muslim nations. In this context, governments should not limit the power of private political parties in their quest to fight injustice. The lesson of Bhutto is that without important and longtime strategies in political parties and institutions, the global war on terror will not thrive. The film will also compose Bhutto’s childhood, as she was growing up and heard of her father hanged. Bhutto serves an exile and false accusation of corruption from the militant leader, and still managed to stand up for women rights. Her killing crystallizes the hopelessness of the civilians trapped between corruption and dictatorship. Lastly, the civil society and political organizations must realize the need for a democratic government.

The character to represent Bhutto and the film director.

Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari, the daughter of Benhzir Bhutto, will play as the main character. Karan Johar will take part as the leader. Karan Johar was the director of the film My Name is Khan in 2010, which was a huge success and the first movie to target racial profiling in Bollywood. The film earned him second film fare awards of the best directors of 2010.

Possible Objections

Many individuals in Pakistan may look at Benazir Bhutto’s corruption accusations by militant leaders and view her as corrupt. Also, people may look at her husband’s shady political career after her death and her father’s corruption indictment, and see her as a corrupt image. Critics may classify the film to purport the violation of political powers, corruption and political oppression towards women.

Rebuttal

Guilty or not, convicted or not, Bhutto was a revolutionary figure. The Pakistan Militant leader is notorious for the accusations they made on the political leader in the past to gain power. The army operations sought the failure of the system which compelled to corruption indulges. The origin of Pakistan’s malaise lies in the politics and the ruling system itself.

Bhutto’s Relevance Today

The Pakistan state audient is at the cross road. At the moment its leadership eulogizes the Bhutto’s efforts. Bhutto had emerged to the national headlines when politicians were setting up. They were ineffectual and made the task of filling Bhutto’s vacuum difficult. Bhutto’s legacy for equality and justice continues to shape the perception of women in Islamic countries. Her command of the political scene, economic, and social change in Pakistan was imminent. She is, perhaps, one individual who had foreseen the economic and socio-political changes. Her pragmatic brilliance to command the political institutions harness them for national goals. Bhutto’s slogans opened floodgates in the lanes and streets of the minor Pakistanis. The legacy still poses a severe blow to significant capital feudal lords, uniformed and civil bureaucracy.

Her gift of the gab, her political skill, and her political vision has a permanent mark on the current Pakistan leadership and economic development. As such, there is the emphasis on the empowerment of the people, granting them a full-throated voice and respect. Pakistan today has leaders with global visions and standings which can meet newer political and economic challenges. The country has believable, practicable and feasible leaders that can offer alternative and efficient, broad-based and functional institutions. It is important to underscore that Bhutto’s legacy provides a basis to react to the problems like the mismanagement of the economy and overall mal-administration. Bhutto committed herself to empowering women, opening women’s police station, boosting education opportunities, and “made dramatic reforms in women’s rights” (Bennett 72). Bhutto’s efforts attract the audience from both the Islamic and none-Islamic states. Today, dramatic reforms in women’s rights are for preserving Pakistan national independence. The wheel of freedom, justice, social, and political change has come from a complete circle, bringing the country face to face with the same antique threats.
